"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown

Plant on the balcony
August 09, 2008 - 3:05 pm

Every now and then.. I'll hear someone say something or read something... or whatever about what a person thinks... and I'm struck by how different their reality is from mine.

More often than now, I'm willing to chalk it up to me being twisted... but more and more, I'm not so sure.

More and more.. I realize just how often people do the whole projection thing. How they will push what they think/feel into the actions to another -- is that the right definition? I think so. If not, well, there you have what I mean.

Anyway.

So.. when I started my candy, the doc said... you might get the urge to gamble. I've always had something of an itch -- see my dismal overall record in poker to know just how well things usually turn out. But.. I think I talked about the books the other day.. and recently I've been, as they say, 'hitting my stride' in terms of betting.

The Olympics are wonderful for this. Women's volleyball in particular -- at least so far.

I'm going to work on this. To... moderate when/how I bet. I've had a couple nice wins, so no longer really feel the need to put it all into play.

Finally.. the supermarket had these little potted plants for sale. A Pothos plant.. and I thought.. I keep saying I'm going to get some plants, so let's get this one and see how Loca reacts. Will she dig into the soil? Eat leaves?

So.. I bring it home and just for hahas google to see if it's a 'safe' plant or not.. and sure enough.. the fucker is toxic to cats and dogs.

Whatcha gonna do?

So.. now I've got a plant on my balcony...
