Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results - Albert Einstein

Not quite a manic monday
December 03, 2007 - 6:15 pm

I awoke today and... after doing something to fix the disturbingly dry mouth that I had, I smiled.

I could hear people outside scrapping at car windows -- it's a unique sound. Unmistakable.

I smiled... because my car was in the garage. No more scrapping for me. Not at home.

I smiled because the garage door was closed... perhaps not a huge thing, but my car would be warmer than if just outside. Of all the things I know "own" this garage idea is, perhaps, the one I like best.

Then... I sighed. Since the motif of the weekend was betting, I gave myself a 50/50 chance of being fired. An honest assesment.

You see a couple things went wrong, very, very wrong recently.. and came to light, much to everyone's surprise Friday. I expect what may well be the inevitable result to happen today.

I'll continue to give 50/50 odds, though for the rest of the week.

As for the my other bets... for the first time I felt the pan of being screwed by the refs. I didn't see the play live, in fact had no idea of the controversy until a good deal after the game was over -- the Browns should have won, but the refs mucked up the call. I'm not too distraught as I ended up going 3 for 5 and making money. Though another game or two was mighty close.

I've decided to stick with impulsive betting, to a degree, and already put in my three bets for next weekend. No more wagering it all though...
