a day of firsts
September 21, 2007 - 8:14 am

Today is a day or note (or perhaps it's really yesterday, you decide)... today's the first day that when I checked her food, Loca had eaten ever bit of the dry food.

In celebration.. I washed the bowl.

I'm working from home today, which is a bittersweet thing. While it's true I can pop out of the 'office' from time to time and watch episodes of Matlock and Murder, She Wrote.. it also means I'm largely stuck sitting here.. 'waiting' for something to happen.

This is much the same as me sitting at work and waiting for something to happen.. only I feel much less motivated to look for something whilst at home.

I'm home.. because we are in the process of moving. Starting Monday, I'll be in the main (and now only) building on the campus. I'll have fresh new digs.. new furniture and whatnot.

HAHA!

Sorry.. Loca just learned how to open the bi-fold doors to the laundry area. You run at them full speed, while prentending to be scared by the stuffed penguin you've been doggedly working at eviscerate, and crash into the doors since you can't stop due to the hardwood floors. Sure, it probably stung a bit.. but the curious look on her face as the door bounced open was worth it.

Not quite as good as the video from the zoo where, in some Japanese show, a girl is dressed up in a furry seal costume out side of the polar bear tank. She's in the area where you can see into the water -- a large, thick glass wall, keeping the bear in. There's a shot where the bear is in the water and looking down at her.. and you can just tell as the bear's head is smushed to the glass that it's thinking, "Hot damn, that looks mighty tasty!" That's followed by the bear getting out of the water... and jumping against the glass to try and get the girl-seal. I'll confess, I was hoping the glass would break and the bear would get a treat.

Over the past few days I've had a few songs playing non-stop in my head (hey, hey, hey, what's in your head?) and well, it's getting old. I need to up my zen skills and learn how to change the station.

Don't just stand there, say nice things to me.
