why did i test the fire alarm? i didn't mean to. i made a grilled cheese sandwich. i didn't burn it.. so i'm a bit baffled why the alarm when off. i think the problem is that i used an oil with a low smoke point.. and had the burner on super high.

oh well. it was a good sandwich. next time, i'll just use butter.

what's my fun for the day? well, last weekend i played in a poker tourny.. a free one (well used FPP points i've earned). for every 10 people who played, there would be one seat awarded as the prize to a bigger tourny. i forget how many people entered, but it was just enough.. as i finished in the last spot to earn a trip to the next tourny.

to me, this is pretty much as good as finishing first. since.. we all start equal in the next one. gotta spin what i can, ya knowa?

the next round is today.. starting in about 1.5 hours. in this one, the top 2 people get entered into a tourny in dublin ireland.

yes, ireland.

this is why i played the first one.. the pipedream of flying to ireland to play cards.

kinda silly absurd, but hey.. i'd love to do it.

however, there's about 200 people going to play.. and only 2 go. the next so many people get some money, i'm not sure how much.

you've no idea how much i'd freakin' love to go into work monday and ask for a week off work to fly to ireland.

anyway. the news is talking about the disaster in pakistan. i remember when katrina and rita hit the gulf.. people were saying god was punishing the US for various things. i don't hear anyone saying that about pakistan. curious huh?

anyway. that's my story..
