today is double wholey fuck day!

i sent an email to odu checking up on assistantships, to see if they'd been awarded. i'm not at all sure how they work...but i know getting one is good.

turns out, they are being awarded today, shortly after i emailed my question.

turns out an assistantship is really good thing. sure you have to either:

1) teach an intro to computers class

2) assist some professor - which problem includes lots of menial things that no one enjoys doing.

however, you get two nifty perks:

1) 2,500 a semester paid out twice monthly.. i'm thinking there's three semesters in a month, so that's 800 a month.

2) since i'm out-of-state, i'd automatically get a scholarship to make me level my tution out with in-state! translation: i go from paying 600 a credit to 235 a credit. that's like a 60% savings that i don't have to pay back!

paperwork is being mailed to me.. so i'll know more then. i won't find out who i'm paired up with professor-wise for anohter few weeks. i do know it could be any department, which could be good or bad.

but for in-state tution, i don't much care.

as for my keeping track of who all responded to my leaving, the list is up to 10 out of 19 people have said something or emailed me. not bad i suppose.

i won't be going to the company picnic in july.. instead i'm going to a medievel faire.
