random things
August 19, 2002 - 5:45 pm

random things.

i enjoy cooking various forms of frying pan cheese sandwhiches.

i watched a pretty intersting event of the x games. i forget what it's called, but it's like the pole vault/high jump for motorcycles. i didn't see the winner, but they were up to 33 feet. going 33 feet straight up on a bike is impressed.

i truly do detest doing laundry and washing dishes.

i want to be happy, but i've no idea how to get from here to there.

i get frustrated easily.

i like to be focused on multiple things at once.

i like to analyze things.

i read a headline today about lewis and clark being shams or undeserving heros or something. i'm at a loss why they wrote the article. who the hell cares about lewis and clark today? at least they didn't claim to 'discover' a landmass that was already known, just not by europeans.

i love shows on ancient mysteries.

my back, beside my left shoulder blade really, really hurts. i'm of two minds on this. either i slept wrong, which i doubt since i've had many years practice at sleeping and consider myself an expert OR while asleep several nights ago, a mutant form of cockroach climbed into my mouth...laid millions of eggs in my chest cavity and the resulting larva are now eating me alive from the inside out. i'm not sure why it's localized to near my left shoulder blade. i don't have much experience thinking like a mutant cockroach.

at work today a hire newer than i made some mistakes. he didn't seem to know how to get some basic information. my team brought this to the attention of his teams lead. a discussion ensued about how he should know these things. i then pointed out that my program has a unquie view to data. in fact my group has what you could say a 180 degree different point of view of data. his mistake was not being able to find information that is basic for my group. everyone in the discussion understood what i meant. 99 percent of what he does is done way "a". my group does it way "b". the problem wasn't really him, but in what he was expected to do. being new, he didn't make the needed point of view switch. everyone felt better once they understood why he did what he did.

perspective does matter. he won't ever know i saved his ass from a major ripping. instead his lead needs to make sure he's properly trained.

humans are obessed with finding a cause, assigning blame. above all it can never fall to ourself, always to someone or something else.

i wrote an essay on baseball. i think i titled it "the sham of baseball". want it? ask for it. i meant to send it off to a newspaper. i've no idea how to submit it though. i didn't bother looking. the point is i wrote it. i never looked up facts and numbers.

my back really hurts. if i hadn't checked i'd swear there was a dagger in my back. i'm thinking of gargling liquid plumber on the assumption that it will kill the larva.

assume makes and "ass" of "u" and "me". the words in "" spell assume. i like that.

there is no "i" in team, however, there is a "m" and an "e".

how many things was that? i didn't count. it doesn't matter. it's random and that's all you get.
