"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results - Albert Einstein

it's all relative
August 18, 2002 - 8:18 pm

i've said it before and i'll say it again.

everything comes down to perspective.

everything is relative.

any situation could be better or worse, depending on what you compare it to. any situation.

our outlook on things is governed by our frame of reference. chipping a nail can ruin you're day or hardly even register. losing your job could be the start of your world crumbling or a chance for you to puruse what you always thought was a dream.

i like analogies.

in other words, if a door close. you can focus on that door being slammed in your face or you can turn around see a door you hadn't noticed before.

that's not quite right. i love analogies.

my life can be view as either decently spent or a horrible waste. i tend to lean toward the waste. i have everything i could need. i have this pc, a tv, a roof over my head, a car, cds, and tons of other really pointless gadets that people tend to think of as 'necessities'. to be honest, these things don't mean much to me. i like having them. they make my life easier, but easier does not mean better.

i find my life quite lacking.

i find my situation quite unsatisfactory.

there's probably several million people who'd gladly trade with me.

it's all relative. it's all in you're point of view...how you and i choose to look at things.
