baseball and two quotes.
August 07, 2002 - 8:39 pm

baseball: i can't think of a better example. i really can't. baseball sums up our culture so pefectly well. it was once a simple, glorious game. people played to play, for fun, for enjoyment, for the challange of it. today baseball has degenerated into a sad, shallow parody of itself. there are strikes...a job where the minimum salary is what..100K or 200K higher? and they strike...it's about greed. it's about money. the game is gone, it's a business. it's an industry.

it's not what it should be.

now and then i think in terms of songs. the modern day poem. i love how the lyrics of a song, a few simple words, can make you feel.

two songs, two sets of lyrics that come to my mind again and again..

"i stand inside my hell and hold the hand of death"

"i wish i was like you, easily amused"

there's nothing else to say.
