the flaw..
March 22, 2002 - 8:40 pm

the matrix is on tv tonight.

small screen and non-letter boxing aside, the movie started out just as good as i recalled.

did you ever really notice how much shittier a movie is on tv? not the commercials or the smaller screen...those might be why you think it's not as good. the real reason is it's not the same format. you're only seeing like half the screen, half the shot you saw in the movie theater. that's cause your screen is a square and a movie screen isn't. so the lop off the sides and cut things out...

letterbox is good. small screen tv formatted crap is bad.

anyway, i just realized one simple thing in the matrix that ruined the whole thing for me. i love the whole idea of it. it's very nature appeals to me, as you might imagine..me mister escapist. the movie probably appeals to you to. it's a great concept. it's well shot and awsome special effects.

it does have one glaring and utterly dumbfounding flaw that i didn't realize the first time around. i think i missed it cause i was so engrossed the first time. i was too busy loving the concept.

it's a flaw i have. i think about things. i like to understand things. i like to analyze things. i don't like things with glaring errors. i don't like it when i see a stupid and utterly avoidable flaw.

i still like the movie, but i won't love it or ever list it as a top favorite.

i wonder if you saw the flaw. well, i know you saw it. i wonder if you noticed it.
