sick or something

i almost got up and screamed at bob today. did i ever describe bob? he's about fifty-five or so. actaully, just picture archie bunker and you have bob. he supposedly 'sales support'. he sits on our books as a sales rep, so offically we have five reps handling customers. realistically we have four and bob sits on his ass until asked by someone to do something.

my story goes back to yesterday. i printed a one page quote and didn't have the time to fax it. the printer is on bob's desk and in the past bob has offered to fax things for me when he knows i'm busy. i was on the phone, so i asked bob to fax the quote to this company and bob said sure. there were three pages, it turns out, on the printer and my quote was the first. bob took all the pages and walked to the fax machine and faxed them. i had no idea he did this. the other two pages were for other customers. i guess had to specify please fax my quote and just my quote to my customer and just my customer. overall, it's really not a big deal. i just made a mental note to be clearer in the future.

today i asked bob to call a company and check on a shippment. it's a two minute phone call. about 25 minutes later he yells over to me that the tracking number the company gave him is wasn't good. i nodded to acknowledge i heard him and kept talking on the phone. about 20 minutes later i was free and asked bob if he had called back to get a good number. he said no.

i wanted to jump up and scream. instead i asked politely as i could if he could call back and get a good number. he said why? i said cause i need to actaully know where the material is. he babbled something else, but i had tuned him out.

we kinda yelled back and forth a bit. i was furious. i get told i do to much on my own and i need to rely on bob to do these sorts of things...so i can focus on more 'meaningful' activities, other wise known as revenue generating things. it's not often i give shit to bob to do and now i have a good case why i don't.

as always, there's more to the story, but that's the nutshell and all you get unless you really care.

i did go buy my salad today after work. i'm not sure if the salad deal is enough for dinner, but it's healthy.

a hear a girl was killed a hockey game after she got hit by a puck. i'm wondering how many days it will be until the lawsuits hit the player, team, arena, league and puck mfg. i mean, why couldn't they use nerf pucks? or not hit the puck so hard? or why not have the ice totally encased in glass? why don't they issue helmets and gloves to fans? why doesn't the league have disclaimers all over the place...of course i'm being sarcastic.

i hear the supreme court is handling a case about testing student athlete for drugs. it seems some people think it's invades a students privacy and is against the fourth admendment. they say a persons rights shouldn't be diminsished since they are in school. i'm confused by this. don't pro athletes get tested? i know i got tested when i applied for my job. how is signing up for a sport different than appyling for a job? i'd think families would rather know thier kids are drug free rather than just 'knowing i have a good kid'.

i wonder what else the court is going to hear this year.

i'm pooped now. i get run down pretty quick, even though i don't do much. it makes me wonder if i'm sick or something.
