Fairs and cars
June 13, 2009 - 6:23 pm

My town is having a little fair this weekend. I guess you'd call it a fair... really just a big collection of booth/tents for people to sell things. Some food booths.. and then some some games.. and, I think, some rides -- I didn't really go near the ride area.

I walked past a group of early 20's late teen girls... having some sort of a conversation. The bit I heard, her voice dripping with condensation... her tone screaming, 'you're fucking retarded and should never utter another word again' as she said, "My hair style ISN'T the same as her. Her's is like an inch longer."

Sometimes... I weep for the future.

I think my car is starting to really die. The AC isn't working. Did I mention this? It was thought to just be a sensor, but that's been replaced and there is no joy. I now think it's the compressor. This is.. a good $500 I think. Not horribly expensive, but the question of just how much my car is worth vs the repairs it's going to start to need comes into play.

I've started to pay a lot more attention to cars I see. Twice today I saw a car and I said, "I like that."

To me, most cars really look the same. The subtle style differences are lost on me. I want a car that works.. and I'd like to sit 'high'. So SUV type cars appeal to me just from how you sit, but the fuel efficiency factors in.. and I certainly don't need an SUV.

There's a class of car that's sort of part car and part SUV -- crossovers I guess. I like those.

Twice I saw a Subaru Outback Sport and liked it. I'm not sure it's really much higher than a normal car, but I liked it anyway. I need to start doing car research. Money pit research.

Oddly, I do like Mini Coopers too. No idea why... Though, I doubt I'd get one. The practical side of me says there's just no room to carry anything -- not that I ever do.. but I might. Right?
