ain't the interwebs grand?

i stand by my thoughts that the movie will suck. i can clarify my thinking a little more.. the promo makes the people out to be... i'm searching for the words.. and all i'm coming up with is pompus self-rightious folks -- i'd generally say assholes.. but well, i'm not so sure i'd go that far.

in other words.. the promos strike me as terribly fake/staged. yes, i know it's a movie... and therefore by definition staged. that's not my point.

in other news.. next week i'll be in chicago. it seems there's some sort of "event" happening and i almost didn't get a hotel room. turns out.. one of the senior folks involved in my training belongs to a private club in chicago.. and *poof* i'm staying in high style right down town.

wow, kinda of sad that looking for "events" in chicago can be so.. difficult to find. well, not events.. but what the fuck is going on seems.. not to be easy to find....

hrm, looks like it's two events over the week:

venetian night -- complete with fireworks
tall ships -- as in big ass mast ships come into port

interesting stuff. as for what i'll be doing in chicago.. well, shadowing a rep for a week. truth be told.. i'm not too sure what to expect... and i'm trying not to put too much thought into it.
