shopping maddness
June 15, 2006 - 5:11 pm

how much money did i spend today.. i'm not quite sure -- no where near as much as i imagined i might though.

i got, what i think is, a wicked nice pair of shoes on sale for about $40.00 -- even cheaper than can be found on zappos -- go filene's men store!

course, i might notta got em if i'd read on zappos first.. but for $40, you can't beat a stacy adam's shoe: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7177946.html (in cognac, not black). i'm going let things ride with my black non-leather sole shoes.. and see what the deal is.

these one should look spiffy with my toupe (i learned that toupe is indeed a word/color the other day) and olive pants.

yeah, i can match.. but you see.. the whole patterns in shirts and pants thing is what fucks with my head. i like patterned pants, but.. i dunno. i just need to see people wearing such things and i'll sort it out.

i've got, i think, five good shirts that fit. so all is good there. i need to check my pants and see how well my fat ass fits into them..

later today i'm going to go for a walk/jog.. and hopefully the same tomorrow and this weekend.

how fucked is it that clothes have become my motivating factor to lose weight? well, not clothes.. but this job -- hopefully career.

speaking... i have books to read this weekend. they sent two primer books. neither very long.. so i'll do one tomorrow and one saturday.

oh. i was looking on verizon wireless at my account the other day and just for shits and giggles.. i checked to see what all i can upgrade my phone to. gotta lover verizon for that -- had my last phone for one year (upgraded for free) and i can already upgrade again -- even to the bran spankin' new razr v3m. well, no charge for the phone, but you have to get a new charger and can add a bluetooth headset.. and stereospeakers for like 80 bucks.

not a bad deal.. i've no desire to use the vcast shit -- get, this, the "ringback" option. dear god.. i'll be sure to headbutt the first person i call who makes me listen to a fucking ringtone while waiting for them to answer.

i got the razr today and the guy thought i was being "old" (i could see it in his eyes) when i told him the ringback stuff was stupid and a waste of time.. this after he called it "the newest and coolest feature". i forget how much it cost.. but wtf. why would i pay to have someone listen to a ringtone!?

good on verizon for thinking of it though and trying to make money off it. but, like i said.. headbutts all around for whoever uses this with me.

it's a slim ass phone. i'm very happy with the looks. no idea about anything else yet. i'm a bit miffed i lost the ringtones i had on my old phone.. something about they can't transfer those. there's only one i really like, so i'll probably just go get it again. they are cheap enough.

what else.. oh.. i found the "perfect mall" for me.. and it's close. i feel like a tool for driving an hour to buckland mall.. and over an hour to danbury fair mall (yes, it did indeed have a fair. i've no idea if it's always there).. westfair mall (no fair on site) is like half an hour or so from me. go west hartford.

i meant to find the whole foods store.. it has to be close.. but i forgot.

westfair is a nice.. upscale mall. even has a brooks brother's store and nordstroms. one day.. i'll be shopping there. for now.. filene's men store works nicely -- well, once i lose a bit it will.

and.. if you were keeping score.. no i'm not going home this weekend. i need (ok, want) to buy a few more things.. like a nice dayplanner.. things i know i'll need in this job, but just don't own.

it's so fucking sad.. i'm in such a "patheticly good consumer-mode" that it's not even funny. part if me... has just thrown up its arms and walked off all disgusted.. and the rest of me is all about buying shit i'll "need".

to be fair -- i _do_ need the clothes.. just not the phone (which will hardly take up any room in my new pants pockets).

the one kinda shitty thing about leather soled shoes, if you didn't know, is that until they are scuffed up on the soles.. they are slipp mother fuckers - dangerous type slippy.

slippy is a nice western pa word. laugh all you want.. i love it.

i need to wear em out.. and scuff em up. too bad they look kinda goofy with shorts.
