i think of a thing or two that would make me smile.. and i realize that, for various reasons, it's best if i don't do it.
this reinforces the downwardness.
rather like a drowning man reaching for a rope.. but knowing if he pulls on the rope, someone else gets hurt.
a bad metaphor, i know.. i'm not drowning. i'm just in the mood to need human interaction.. and there's very few people i'm inclinded to chat with.
