"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown amen to that. in fact, i'll go farther, not much (if anything) between people who care about each other should come with conditions. while at work today, i read an article, well skimmed, about how much better it is to own vs rent. sort of been on my mind since going to linen and things. so, after reading some of the 'points for' owning, i did a quick search of my town. i was kinda shocked to see that i could buy a condo-type place and pay less per month than i'm paying now. granted, i dunno what the condo fees are.. but still.. i'm talking, with zero down, 3 hundred or more less a month. not just one or two places in this range, but like five or six. i'm sort of befuddled by this. i thought it'd be alot closer to what i pay now. i almost bought a place years ago, but chickended out.. much to the ire of my agent at the time. now i'm thinking.. heck, even if it's the same amount (with condo fees) it's a better deal. even if i only live here a year.. i'll get the money back (knock on wood) when i sell. that money can then go towards a new place.. the real estate ladder as it's called. what's really scary.. is that i'm finally thinking i'm too old rent.
