people are weird
November 19, 2005 - 8:57 am

i've been thinking alot about.. a "cause" to put my energy and effort into.

there's tons of them out there. well not tons since a cause isn't measured in weight, but there's a hell of a lot.

some are charity organizations. some are political.

while watching tv the idea came to me.. why isn't there a real concerted effort to the glorifaction of violence?

violence does have a time and a place.. but our society truely does glorify it.

all the law and order shows, all the CSI shows.. and the spin offs and copycats dominate tv. they are all about dead bodies.. and why people did whatever it was to each other. we watch this. we are entertained by this.

i admit i fall into this category. i like csi. i liked the movie saw.

why do people seem to enjoy it so much?

is it like the bit from Stranger in a Strange land.. that we laugh at the misfortune (big or small) of others?

that's pretty true. think of all the jokes you know.. all the times you've laughed.

people are weird.
