the scorpion and the frog

don't know it? here's a version:

the scorpion says to the frog, "hey, will you let me ride on your back across the river?"

the frog replies, "no, if i let you get near me, you'll kill me."

the scorpion says, "you'll be doing me a favor, why would i do that?"

the frog agrees and the scorpion hops on the frogs back. halfway across the river, the scropion stings the frog.

the frog says, "why did you do that? now we are both going to die!"

the scorpion replies, "what can i say, i'm a scropion -- it's my nature."

i've no idea why that's in my head. perhaps i'm pondering my own nature or.. i just like the idea of talking animals.
