credit cards
July 09, 2003 - 8:25 pm

muhahahahahhaahha!!

*cough* sorry..

allow me to explain. if you, by chance, have a credit card (and who doesn't these days?) might i recommend calling up the bastards that you pay so much interest to and asking them for a lower rate?

think about it. rates for all sorts of things are super low.. so why not take a few minutes and call up your card(s) and say you'd like a lower rate..and make something up - like capital one is offering 8.9% (which they are). sure you may not qualify for that, but ask for a rate that's 2 or 4 percent less than you have now. act like you're going to move the balances to someone else if they don't go lower. it's a wicked competitive market for the companies and they want, really want, to keep the folks they have.

ignore the crap about temporary low rates, that's distraction - or at least i think so. i want the lowest 'normal' rate.

that's what i've done tonight. i wanted to get rid of one card, i have too frick'n many. the highest one, i told i wanted 9.9% or i'd cancel it and he said, "uhm, i can do that."

what's the worst they can do? tell you no? cancel the bastards if they do!
