rental anger
June 18, 2003 - 5:01 pm

i'm quite pissed at the moment.

i called my landlord last week, sent a letter and called again today. this is all in regards to my moving out in august and giving sixty days notice.

i finally spoke to her today and said two things that piss me of.

1) in regards to the lease i recently signed, she said the 60 day notice thing isn't the policy. sorry, but i signed it and therefore it is the policy. if you don't like your own lease form, that's your bad for using it.

2) she immediately got hostile towards. now i've lived here a little over a year and the only other time i spoke to her was when i found all the mold in my apartment - which, btw, she still hasn't provided a dehumidifier for like she said she would.

basically, i'm saying i'm not a pain the ass who bothers her with lots of junk.

she told me i need to reread my lease, which i said i'd love to do, but i don't have it. see, i signed it, sent it to the realtor, who forwards it to her...and then a copy gets sent to me. so i need her to send a copy of the lease i signed some months ago.

i'm irked.

the old lease says she can keep my security deposit and/or take me to court if i break the lease for any reason. the new one, has some bit about sixty days notice.

i'm fine if she keeps one months rent, i expect that. if she wants to take my ass to court, i'm probably stubborn enough to say that's fine. keep in mind i'll be living in another state by then....

what i'm really thinking is.. what the fuck? why can't one thing go smoothly with this grad school idea? am i to think that i shouldn't be going to school? the whole financial aid/housing process was fucked up..

i dunno.

i think i'm going to stop by the realtor tomorrow to see if i can get a blank copy of the lease to look at. i hope to god it says i can end the lease with 60 days notice.

if it doesn't fuck her, she can sue me.
