something i can control.
December 22, 2002 - 11:00 am

i realize today that what i wrote last migh well be considered hurtful.

that was not my intention. i posted in my diary what was heavy on my mind. it's not a pleasant situation and my thoughts match.

one thing that i believe about people, one thing that i believe seperates us from other animals (and yes we are animals) is that we have the power to control how we react to a much, much greater degree than anything else.

we choose what we say and what we do. we choose.

sometimes our choices are better than others.

not one of us is truly forced to do anything. we may think we are, we may deny other options, but that is a choice in and of itself.

i have my share of things to deal with, we all do. some get posted here. some don't. some get posted here in an indirect form, some get posted here directly.

sometimes it does seem like i have no options, that things are totally out of my control.

a situation may be out of my control, but i react to it is not. i can only take in all the information i can, anaylze it as best i can..and choose accordingly.

even if you argue that you're pre-disposed to rant and rave when angry, you still make the choice to rant and rave when you're presented with a situation that angers you. by truly believing that there is no other way you can act is a choice.

that's my thought for today.

i can't control what happens, but i can control how i respond to it.
