"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown last night in baseball. fans were throwing junk on the field..toilet paper n things. they showed an interview with a player, he said that fans should show some more maturity than that. that they should behave better. he was really disappointed...afterall they were there to play a game and in the playoff hunt. sorry, this makes me laugh. maturity? better behavior? a game, yes it's a goddamn game, that pays a minium of 300,000 (starting next year). that goes to the sucky players that sit on the damn bench most of the time. 300,000! granted they have to wear pants that look like tights, but still. how can you start to complain? the average salary is just over 2 million dollars. name a profession, a real job, that pays anywhere near that. i expect some maturity and better behavior from the players. if 300,000 a year isn't enough for you, perhaps you shouldn't be a baseball player...you knew the salary when you were offered the job, you coulda turned it down. i'd like to know how much the owners make so i can think some greedy bastard thoughts about them. let the fans be pissed. they pay the damn salaries of the players. they shell out hard earned cash to see them play, to be entertained and then there's a strike of money. i've always thought players and owners should both have a cap on how much they can make. say 20 million a year for players and i'd have to see what owners make to come up with a cap idea for them...but anyway, so cap the incomes. then you can downward adjust ticket prices so the average person who likes the game can afford to go see them and buy some food. take any extra money and put in a fund. fund of the fund is for a new staduim, so when the time comes the team has all the damn money for thier own stadium. don't forget sports teams are private companies and i don't see why a city/state should help finance them. you could do tons with the fund, they could donate to charities, help schools, sports camps...you know actually give back the people that pay to see them play. i hope they strike. of course i'd have to stop watching the news. i couldn't deal with all the strike talk crap.
