ever know?
May 26, 2002 - 1:58 pm

i just watched time bandits. well the end of it anyway. does anyone remember that film? the dwarfs who steal the map with time holes?

i need to get one of those nifty budget programs.

i planned on cleaning out the rest of the boxes in my empty room. i started on that then i realized that the dumpsters are full. i cna't really clean out my room if there's not dumpster room.

my ears are really pissing me off. they have been clogged for a weeks. not totally clogged..sometimes they seem nice and clear. yes, yes i've used qtips. i think thats part of the problem. i think i've pushes wax back into my ear. i've tried drops and they seems better right after the drops...but the next morning it's back to the old clogged. i need new ears.

i really do think it's true that poeple have to much free time. it's like we are animals in a zoo with nothing to do...animals often develop mental illnesses in that kind of situation. i think that's a problem for people. we have so much that's done for us that our time is focused on things that don't really matter. we have technology and work...but the work we do isn't really needed work. does it really matter if a new software program gets made and sold? does balancing a companies books really matter? we say they do, but they don't. life used to be more about doing what you do to live. if you don't get the crops planted you will starve. now..we just drive down to the supermarket. no sense of value in that. no sense of importance. we don't just want food, we want all fancy dancy yummie grub.

i watched this show about atlantis the other night. i'm hooked on such shows. this guy used plato's story, the detials of atlantis to build a pretty interesting case that atlantis was south america and in particular the main kingdom was in boliva. did you know that plato says the kingdom had a special ore that was part copper and part gold? did you know that mix has only been found in boliva? there's a rectangular plain the same size as what plato says. there's lots of things like that. he even went out and found what could be the remains of the great sea wall.

there's a city that most people date to around 300bc. the odd thing about the city is that there's part of wall that seems to have been used to keep track of the sun. ancient cultures seem to have been very fond of keeping track of the sun. anyway. the thing with this wall is that it doesn't quite work anyomre. the earth has a wobble to it's rotation. so since the earth has wobbled out of alinment with the sun, some smart folks decided to try and figure out when the sun would have been in alinment with the wall.

the date they came up with was about 15,000bc. that's an odd date. there should be no civilization then.

the really odd thing about that date is i watched another show about the sphinx. the guy in that show seems to think that it's much older than egpyt since it's body shows water erosion and there hasn't been rain in quite some time in that part of egypt. he dated it to about 15,000bc too.

isn't that kinda funky? what if there was a civilzation that flurished way back then? one that could sail the oceans...it would explain so much. so many 'odd' things show up in civilizations all across the world. things that they should not have known or had. egyptian mummies show tracies of tobacco. tobacco is only grown in the americas. there are caucasian mummies in china that no one can explain. there's the 'myth' of atlantis that could be exactly as plato said.

or it could all be funky coinicidences.

do you think we'll ever know?
