"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown

in the long run
March 11, 2002 - 9:54 pm

i think i just watched...one of the most screwed up shows ever. i think it was trying to be shocking with the naked man sitting in the lobby, the flatmate who had loud screaming sex, the taking a 12 year old to a transvesite to borrow a desk and finally a bomb outside the embassy. that's alot going on for one show. i think it tried to be touching and have some kind of fairytale quality with the mysterious cia agent man and the english lord both lusting after the same person..and yet stay on a human level with her tending for the 12 year old.

the only worthwhile thing of the show i've nearly forgotten. it's a quote from the end. i think i've lost the original wording, so perhaps the quote didn't strike as much thought within me as i thought.

'life is about making mistakes and death is about wishing you'd made more'

i think that's right. i think they got it wrong though. death isn't about wishing you had made more, death is about not wanting to make any more.

i think i'm ready to make a new one. i think i'm ready to do something i should have done years ago. that sounds funny coming from me. 'years ago'. i'm not that old.

i've little doubt that it's going to turn out badly, which is why i'm all for it. usually i'm convinced everything will be roses and they never are.

in the short run though, i think it will be good for me.

in the long run, well..in the long run we all die. no?
