absurdity to the extreme...
Feb 21, 2002 - 9:46 pm

it's been a while since i last brought up something absurd. to be honest i kind of tired of it. there's so many examples...but tonight i've found perhaps the perfect example of absurdity in out culture.

i can sum it up in two words:

glutton bowl

this is of course me and so i could probably go on a length...but there's little need. i do have a few more words though.

i think it's one of the clearest signs that religion is dead/dying. i'm not jewish or christian or anything really. i just have my own little beliefs...however i'm pretty sure that gluttony is a sin. it's just one more sign that we give little more than lip service to such things. perhaps late at night or when something bad happens we like to think there is a god, but when things are good...and something looks like fun, well that god fella...he's pretty forgiving and understanding isn't he? that whole thing with commandments and sins and hell, he didn't mean for that to apply to me or what i'm doing.

i do find this show amusing though...bull's balls, cows brains, sushi with a hell of a lot of wasabi...

what could be a better, a clear, a more defining testiment to the pure pointlessness and absurdity of our culture than the glutton bowl?

this exhibition made it to nationial tv and is being cheer on as something worth winning...this makes sense to people and yet....and yet we ridicule and belittle other cultures....
