economic slaves?
2001-12-04 - 8:41 pm

so, i didn't have any big conversations at work today. i had something of a better idea, but perhaps more on that later.

does anyone see work as something good? it's like there are rare people that truely live to do what they do and then there is the vast majority of us that work cause we must. we work to earn little bits of paper we can exchange for other items, we barter really. for all the complex and civilized things we think we have, we really juts barter...i'll give you this, if you give me that. only the things we barter with now arn't really worth anything. i mean a long, long time ago...we'd barter a sharp stone for some food. that's a hell of a deal if you think about you. you actaully _need_ and can use the food..and whoever you traded with can actaully use the sharp stone to skin or catch more food. it's a win-win. now i mean, we trade bits of paper or shiney (well, often dirty and beat up) coins that arn't any good to anyone.

i staring to become a hippie, eh?

i dunno, it just seems to me that we should be able to do what we want. we are free after all, no? no, i guess we arn't. we are just economic slaves who think we arn't.

i dunno, this isn't much of a dairy page is it? it's more like a whiny semi-thought out 'blah'...just what the internet needs more of.

what else is there? i'm not to sure. there's probably things i should be talking about...more about my life and day i suppose...but i can't imagine anyone really wants to hear about that.
