Perhaps... it is that this is all there is.

The little things change, but the overall realities... are what they are.

To use a metaphor, which I dearly love to use, you can paint a house a different color.. put on new shutters... add a porch... whatever you fancy.

With each change people will look at it and say it's better or worse than it was before.

Of course.. it's neither better nor worse -- it's still a house. That's all it's ever going to be.
