"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown Triumphant from where? Foxwoods. Triumphant at what? Poker. Why nearly not so? Well.. you see the plan was to take $200. The last time I was there, months ago, the max buyin for a 1/2 table was $100. The plan was to go bust no more than twice. Well, not that I was planning to go bust at all, but that was the lower limit. Upon arriving and getting my first stack of chips, I saw that they'd changed the rules -- you could now buyin with as much as $300. Sitting down with $100 no longer seemed a good idea.. but I only has $200 in cash, so ended up sitting and playing with the full $200. I didn't play long.. For whatever reason I never seem to "play well" when I join an existing table. I like to start at a bran new table. Anyway, after losing, I debated what to do.. my plan was to go bo bust not more than twice.. and I only really went bust once. So I got more money and happily ended up joining a new table. Over the next six hours.. I was as high as around $750.. but then fell to about $300 and again rose to around $700 before leaving with $650 -- up a total of $250. Not too shabby.. add in driving time and I earned around $27 an hour. Why did I go? My "dream" of making the money I need playing poker has awakened in my head again.. Why? I don't know.. it just seems absurd spending the vast bulk of my time "working". But that would get me off on a philosophical rambling that I'm going to avoid. Instead, I'm going to go have a beer and watch a movie.
