what i learned this morning
August 14, 2006 - 6:26 am

here's a nice little study that flys in the face of everything you've ever thought about cars:

http://tinyurl.com/nnpxs

the most reliable cars? sure lexus tops the list.. that jibes with the typical world view. toyota is fifth? that's a head scratcher, but guess who's in between?

why mercury (ford), buick (gm), and cadillac (gm) of course.. you can now say wtf? no bmw? no mercedes? detriot has three of the top five -- and gm two of those?

anyway.. that's what i learned from fark this morning.

of course, what makes this kind of article all the more fun (and the comments you can read at fark) is that.. people choose to relate their own experience and extrapolate that to the whole of the company.

in other words, someone has trouble with one gm car and all of gm is the shit. nevermind, it's just that one car.. and, of course, there's folks ranting it's not possible.. they've always been told toyota was the best of the best (and that's still kinda true since lexus is owned by toyota).
