the pope and a list

people are upset, depressed.. worried, praying.. all about the pope -- who is, by all accounts, soon to be dead.

why is this such a sad and terrible thing?

surely of all the people in the world, the pope is one you can is exgtremely probable to make it into heaven. most religious folk would say the pope is a lock to get through the pearly gates.

so shouldn't you be celebrating the coming end of his mortal suffering and soon to be entrance into heaven?

isn't the popes death after years of medical illness and suffering.. a good thing?

why not rejoice in the knowledge, such as it is, that the pope lived the good life and is to be rewarded?

of course.. most people are so far off the religious track.. in fact, i'd have to say one of the corner stones of western society is idolatry -- namely the worship of money (the all-mighty dollar)... but that's a whole other entry.

things i need to do today:
- laundry
- write something for one of my homework projects
- get dressed up and attend a dinner i don't want to attend, i'm feeling sickish, so i might back out.. undecided about that..

uhm, whatever, that's a big enough list.
