katie: "hey, guess what i have."

me: "i've no--"

katie, yelling, "QUIT FOLLOWING ME! YOU ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!"

me: "--idea. what the hell are you talking about??"

katie: "i got a cat and-- GET OUT OF MY WAY! and it's driving me crazy."

me, laughing, "from where?"

katie: "from a friend. she's letting me have it for a week to see if i like having cats. STOP EATING THE PLANT! OH MY GOD!"

me, laughing harder, "how long have you had it?"

katie: "i got it last night at 1am and just got home. the damn thing won't stop following me around. it won't stop eating the plants. i'm not ready for kids."

me, still laughing, "the cat is probably freaked out. new home, new person, new everything, left alone all day.."

katie: "GET OUT OF MY WAY! i can't stand this. i can't do a week of this. this cat is evil. GET AWAY FROM THE PLANT! MY MOTHER GAVE ME THAT PLANT!"

me, hardly able to catch my breath, "move the plant, put it up on a table or something.."

katie, "it's too big. GET! A! WAY! FROM! THE! PLANT! listen, this cat has food right in front of it, but it's eating the plant. STOP IT!"

and so on.. and so on.. i'm still laughing. i feel bad for the cat though.

at least it made me smile.
