"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown that'd they eventually get themselves organized and elect some sort of president/prime minster and have a legislative body like parilment or congress.. and that the nations would become states.. and so on. some of that has come true since i was laughed at.. but today i saw this article: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004401679,00.html this guy from the EU is claiming that all or europe was together in the olympics and that they, not the united states, won the most medals - something like 280. to be honest, i could actaully see the world melding into something like seven 'nations' - europe (the EU), north america (canada, the us and probably mexico), south america (all the rest), Africa (all of africa), pacifica (australia and some of southeast asia), the middle east (all those contries minus isreal of course with isreal going to the EU) and asia (all rest). something like that more or less broken up by the continents. it makes sense, well as much as having things broken up by invisible lines makes sense. the whole notion that people from one nation are better or more important than from another is.. absurd. as duran duran once said: people are people so why should be that you and i get along so awfully? the wildcard, in my mind, will be how corporations shape things. money, afterall, is what seems to make the human world go round... and if only we could get off that downward spiraling merry-go-round we might have a chance at lasting peace and harmony. instead, we'll 'enjoy' the new world order of mega-companies dictating policy.
