not that i'm a huge fan of bush, but here's, in a nut shell, is why i don't like kerry:

Campaigning for president has made Kerry a rare figure in the Senate for most of the year. He has participated in just 17 of 135 votes since January, according to an Associated Press tally.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,123348,00.html

to me, this speaks to his character. his first responsibility is to the people who have elected him - the people of MA - and to his duties as a senator.

17/135 is about 12%. don't try to tell me only 12% of the votes in the senate matter..

don't forget this is just votes, not days in the senate when they debate bills and whatnot - so i bet his overall attendence record is even worse.

if i was from mass, i'd be horribly pissed. i say do your job first - let your record, deeds and abilities speak for themselves.

lead by example, not by sound bite.

of course, this also speaks to the larger issue.. the troubles our electorial system has.. and it's inherent unfairness.

that's a topic for another day.

who am i going to vote for? i've no idea. there's not a person that i think is fit to 'lead'.

that get's into just how much does who is president actaully matter.. the president does NOT control the economy.. and lots of other things generally credited (or blamed) for.

i dunno. i forget who said it.. but someone very assute once said:

democracy (which the united states doesn't have btw, but we say we do) is the worse form of government - expect for all the rest.
