damn my school.

isabel did not claim me as a victim.

though i doubt many were worried.

my school, which i'm quite annoyed at, is open today. but, get this.. they have us call this number to see when school will reopen. throughout the weekend, i call it. sunday it says, 'residence halls will open at 6pm and classes will restart monday at 1pm."

all sounds find and dandy, no?

no indeed. what the message didn't bother to include was that my place wasn't open. so i packed up my stuff, drove from my brother's house with images of nice, long, warm shower dancing in my head.. (we were without power and hot water since noon thursday) only to find out that i can't get into my place.

now, i'm pretty pissed. i want a shower. i want hot water.

today.. much the same. they let us in to get stuff, but no one can stay there.

needless to say all the food is rancid, pretty damn smelly rancid too.

tonight, they set up mats in the gym. i think i'll pass. i think i'll go back to my brother's and sleep there.

tomorrow, i'll go swimming at 11am and get my shower that way..

what i'm annoyed at most is that i have a test tomorrow, first of my foray back to school and i don't have anywhere decent to study.

every single other school/college/university in the area is closed today.

from what i understand, most of the buildings here are running on generators.. i say, if you can't have everything open.. then you should be closed.

this is half-assed. people could have stayed where they were and been better off. the parking lots arn't even near half full.. so the classes that are taking place are missing folks.. folks who probably don't have power and might not even know school is back on.

i dunno, i'm rambling. i guess what i really want is the power back on. funny how addicted to it we can be. can't do much without it.. esp after dusk.

still, damn my school for going about this half assed.
