"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." -- unknown i went shopping today and caved in. i bought this crystral figure thing for my mom that i didn't like (cause all the ones they had sucked)...but i'm pretty sure it's one she doesn't have. as a kick in the teeth, i later drove past a crystal store i didn't realize was there. i bet they'd have a good selection. i'm going to call my brother tomorrow and wish him happy birthday and perhaps venture the idea that he doesn't need to get me anything..and therefore i don't have to get him or his family anything. it's not that i'm a scoorge and don't want to get anything, but my family is retarded at gifts. we give practical things that suck to get. i get shirts, usually two. my mom suggested i get my brothers wife one of those microwavable potato tray things. she was serious. i don't think i'd havea good opinion of anyone who got me a 'gift' like that unless i asked for it. i think i said before my dad wants after shave. what's the f'ing point of mailing it? why not just send my 'rents some money...and they can send me money...hell, lets just call it a wash and save postage. i read somewhere you can lose like 15 pounds just walking for 30 minutes a day. i think i'm going to start walking around the mall after work. i drove out to barnes and noble tonight hoping to find a nice set of the hobbit/lord of the rings set. they didn't have one. i did buy the hobbit though. i've read them all before, but thats was long, long ago. i also bought this book called 'the descent' by jeff long. it looks good. from the back panel, it's about a desent into the bowels of the earth where demons and devils and other ungodly things live. it sounds interesting, or it did in the store. hrm. so. like i said. i'm pretty f'ing bored at work these days.
